Description

Features 10 working drawings of a home that have a staircase, conventionally framed walls, balloon-framed walls, vaulted ceiling, a roof framed with trusses and conventional rafters, second-story with floor joists and sub-floor sheathing. Dimensions relate to standard dimensions such as 2 x 4, 1 x 6, 2 x 8, 4 x 4, etc. with lumber cut to thousandths of an inch tolerances and the Micro-cut balsa wood lumber supplied is at three-quarter scale. Each kit is designed to teach students the principles used in real world house framing. Kit contains instruction booklet that explains purposes of each type of lumber and step-by-step pictures of house framing details. Optional refill kit contains replacement balsa and nails to allow you to reuse framing kit again and again at a fraction of the cost of a full kit. Components are framed as in a real house and students can construct some framing details on the working drawings.
